Pilsner Urquell is a Czech beer brand founded in 1842 in the city of Plzen, Bohemia. It was the first Pilsner-type lager ever brewed, a bottom-fermented beer that quickly gained popularity around the world.
Pilsner Urquell is brewed with high-quality ingredients, including fresh water from artesian wells in Plzen, barley malt from Moravia and aromatic hops from Žatec, a region in the northwest of the Czech Republic. It is fermented at low temperature for several weeks, which gives it its characteristic refreshing taste and golden color.
Pilsner Urquell is brewed in the birthplace of Pilsner beers and is today considered one of the greatest beers in the world.
